Ark’s Ark Visitor Browser Usage Stats

Just for fun (or what counts as fun to web-based folks like myself) I thought it might be interesting to post this little bit of data regarding the browsers people used to visit this site. They’re a fair bit different to the ratios shown appearing in Steam’s newly released hardware survey, though of course they have a rather larger sample size! Compared with the Steam sample, we have rather less Firefox, and a lot more Chrome going on.

I’m impressed that 11 visits came from a Playstation 3. I don’t even know what Sea Monkey is, but it has a very cool name.

  • Decided to look at mine, I’ve got one SeeMonkey user and another person using something called Lunascape. I think my users are just a tiny bit cooler, only 16.84% use IE. ;)

    • It depends on the demographics of your visitors. For instance, our fellow MMO bloggers are probably less likely to be using IE, and more likely to comment. People browsing at work are often stuck with Internet Explorer.

    • Zuri eres mar32illoso&#8va0;.

  • What do you use to keep your stats? The one I’m using isn’t very good, but I checked mine too and my top five and percentages is nearly identical to yours.

    • That particular panel is from Google Analytics, which is pretty decent. It only updates once a day though, so I also use Statcounter which tracks visitors live.

  • My browser split is similar to yours although FF is a little higher and Chrome a little lower. As I work in in the web industry, It’s very interesting to see how FF is the browser of choice for geeks and gamers.

RE: Google Analytics, it does actually update reguarly throughout the day, you just need to change the calendar to view your current days stats (it defaults to yesterday as the final day). There’s also Yahoo! Web Analytics if you want to try something else but to be honest GA is pretty great.

  • Google analitycs can present live visitators!
