I’ve brought this old post from April up from the depths, as just for Black Friday, Arvixe is offering 50% off for life for any of its shared hosting options, if you use the coupon code “Black Friday”, meaning that you can get hosting from just $2 a month. I’m always a little uncomfortable making posts like this, but it is a pretty good deal that might be of interest to some of my readers. Also, I like money.

We’re moments away from the start of the Ashes, the biannual series of cricket matches between England and Australia. We’re down in Australia this time around, so my sleep patterns are at risk, but I don’t care. It’s going to be a winter of hope and pain, beefy sixes, and outrageous referee decisions!!!
I may be a little distracted for a while, but that’s alright! Let’s celebrate with Mr Duckworth and Mr Lewis, and their fine musical stylings!

As well as the new Everquest 2 Festival of Heroes adventures that I pictured yesterday, “Shattered Remains” also made a comeback, with a sparkly new tapestry reward. This was the main feature in the Festival of Heroes first appearance last year. It was designed to showcase locations from each of the expansions that had come out in EQ2’s first 5 years, and as such it is slightly moving to us old-timers. I was a little surprised it hadn’t been updated […]
While one world burns in dragon-wrought Cataclysm, meanwhile, Everquest 2’s Norrath is celebrating it’s 6th anniversary with the Festival of Heroes.
But all is not well in the city of Qeynos! Slippery Toughshield, the leader of the Heroes’ Festival Band, and holder of the coveted “Most Amusing Name in Qeynos” award, is missing one of his members! Elsewhere, a fair damsel is missing some of her decorative lanterns! A strange man is taking up floor-space in Ironforge’s Arms, curiously causing […]
Star Trek Online did not always treat me kindly when first we met. That did not stop me from devoting a quite ridiculous number of posts to play-by-play coverage of my beta experience. My final thoughts as the game launched were not particularly complementary, and you can see them here.
My greatest annoyance though was how, when I cancelled my subscription, it was re-activated and they carried on charging me for a couple of months. I am not a rich […]
Do not let him speak. He will put a spell on us! Ahhh, too late!!!

This small wonder has been cooked up by my friends over at It’s a Trap productions, here in Norwich. The same fine folks who brought you “Jack Steel and the Starblade“, now with a touching Crimean tale of two plucky British soldiers, a Russian pilot, and Mrs Carruthers. If you like it, please share it with your friends (there’s a handy twitter button down below!) Small film-makers need all the help and encouragement they can get!
You can find […]
